Jail Break
So it finally happened. Naomi has learned to climb in and out of her crib. Michael converted her crib to a toddler bed last night and she slept in it for the first time. She did very well, we only had to put her back in bed once. I think she enjoyed being able to wake up this morning and come into my room to 'wake' me up. We plan on putting up a gate so she can't escape in the mild of the night and get herself into trouble. Our little girl is growing up and definitely not a baby anymore!

Birthday Party

Naomi still loves being sung to. We're going to two parties in the next week for her friends, I hope she doesn't expect to hear her name!

Naomi's 2!
Naomi is 2!
It's hard to believe that Naomi is already 2. She is speaking in sentences and able to tell you what she wants and feels. She is also running and climbing at a frightening (at least for those adults around her) pace. She can be naughty at times, but she is a very sweet girl for most of the time.

Naomi loves the birthday song! She enjoys it so much she sings it to herself. She also suddenly decided that she was once again going to sit in her high chair...she hasn't sat in it since before Halloween! Once you decide that you have a child figured out, they will change their mind.

First Egg Hunt!
Naomi had her first Easter egg hunt of this year with the Mom's Club at a park near our house. She did pretty well, there was no pushing or even crying! She did however think that any egg she saw should be hers, and didn't understand why another kid would get to it first and take it.
And now to enjoy her spoils! The candy was mixed with little toys, and she actually tried to eat one of those little capsules that you put in water and get a little sponge animal from!
Here is a little clip of her getting eggs. My voice probably sounds horrible because I have a head cold, so just ignore that!

Seattle Trip
Bremerton/Seattle Feb. 08
.

While in Victoria we also visited the Miniature Museum and the Bug Zoo. Naomi loved the zoo, but all I wanted to do was get out of there, they kept taking the bugs out of their cages and letting people hold them...bleck!

This is a hands on Music area. Naomi and Granny Anne are jammin!

We also went to another seaside community Poulsbo an old Viking village.

Twinkle what you are
One of Naomi's favorite songs is Twinkle Twinkle. She hears it every night before she goes to sleep and I guess it has rubbed off! She now sings the song to her stuffed animals or in this case the baby from her 'Little People' family. If you can't quite tell she is saying "Twinkle what you are" over and over again. She then very carefully puts the baby in the crib and then goes to sleep herself. I guess she forgot she was sleeping though since she rolled over to play with the airplane. What a goose!

Christmas
We had a very nice Christmas down in Las Cruces with our family. Naomi enjoyed playing with her cousins and spending time with grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, and uncles. She doesn't quite understand about going home and not seeing everyone everyday and therefore asks repeatedly after them.
She is still at an age where Santa Claus is scary. When Yaya asked her if Santa was her friend she loudly replied "NO!". Maybe she will feel differently next year when she realizes that Santa brings her lovely things.

So have you ever...
...asked yourself why maybe you shouldn't turn your back on a 20 month old?
It's a good thing to think about and here's why:
Amazing what she can learn from watching isn't it?!?
By the way, all of this was done while I was publishing the Snow Day post (about 1.5 minutes perhaps).

Dion's Pizza Tour

She put two peperoni's on the pizza then actually ate one. However, she would not eat any of the pizza after it was cooked...go figure! It was a fun tour though.

Halloween

We ended up having a very nice Halloween, we trick-or-treated at 5 or 6 houses before we went home. I never could get her to say 'trick-or-treat' so we settled on please. She always said please and then thank you, then she would try to invite herself into the house.
Naomi was good at handing out candy too. It was fun to see how she reacted to other kids being dressed up.
