Korina's Last Week for 2013

Korina was thoughtful enough to bring a Gingerbread House Kit since Mama had forgotten to purchase one at the store.

After Naomi finished school she started decorating it.

Korina also wanted to make sure Naomi had a countdown that she would see.  Too bad she chose to use the toilet paper...

This evening she decided to hang out in Naomi's stocking.  Milo photo bombed the picture though.

Korina kindly read Twas the Night Before Christmas to some of the toys.

And she played scrabble, although I'm not sure she understands the rules...
(It says: Santa Claus is coming to town and then she is writing her name off to the side)

Korina had a party with some of the Monster High dolls and danced the YMCA.

Not a Korina activity, but Naomi made some beautiful and delicious Christmas cookies!

Korina was very naughty and colored Naomi's nose red with a marker while Naomi was asleep!  Naomi was slightly shocked that Korina would do something so bad.

Korina left Naomi a note on Christmas Eve morning letting her know how much she enjoyed her month with us and that she will see us again next year!

Polar Express and more Korina

Korina was teaching some of the other toys.

Then she thought she would help me out with some of the chores!

This was Friday morning, Korina brought us our tickets for the Polar Express.  She even added her own artwork.

But then just as we were about to leave on Saturday morning we found this, bad Korina!

We rode the Polar Express out of Durango (our destination was the North Pole of course!), this is before the train ride.

Waiting outside on the platform.

Snuggling with Daddy because it was cold!

The Polar Express pulling up into the station.

She found her special train ticket on the table.

Singing some carols while we waited for Santa to come to our car.

She didn't freak out when she saw Santa!  She couldn't remember what she wanted

After our train got back to the station we visited the reindeer (not pictured) and then checked out the train museum and festival of trees.  Naomi decided she wanted another chance to let Santa know what she would like for Christmas so she went to talk to him.

Korina was tired after her trip to Durango, so she napped on the tissue box in the hotel bathroom.

And this morning after she traveled back home to Rio Rancho, she needed to check in on what was going on in the Nativity scene :-)

More later, this is the last stretch for Korina!

More from Korina

Korina was a LAZY elf this week!
She hung out in the Christmas tree.

And then she played a whole lot of tic-tac-toe!
Side note...the first morning Naomi ate the marshmallow that Korina had marked (don't worry, she used food safe markers) so Korina had to replace it while Naomi wasn't looking so that the game could continue.

We also visited the River of Lights at our Botanical Garden.  It was beautiful but freezing!

Penguins :-)

Honey Bees

Still playing tic-tac-toe...

Korina is calculating her chances of winning.  I don' have a picture of it, but Naomi placed her last O and won the game.  Korina could have won, but missed her chance...silly elf!

This morning we found Korina in with the cereal, guess no one is eating that for breakfast!

Thanksgiving and Korina Returns

We spent Thanksgiving in Las Cruces like we usually do.  Luckily we are able to split the time between the families that live down there so we can see everyone!
Naomi was actually able to hold Demi for part of our car trip.  We have found that as Demi gets older, she is willing to tolerate a lot more.  Plus Naomi is more gentle now that she's older too.

After Thanksgiving dinner we decorated mini gingerbread houses!  From the top left: Tina's, Naomi's, Jennifer's, and Yaya/Baba's.

Korina made her appearance while we were down in Las Cruces, first she returned bringing along her book.

I'm not sure what she did to this baby, but baby decided to trap Korina under a glass and pin her down!

Korina got into some stickers and put them all over herself!  Luckily she came back the next night sticker free.

Hanging from Naomi's ceiling fan, I guess she needed to keep a really close eye on her.

Korina brought magical peppermint kisses and instructed us to plant them in the flour and then sprinkle on the magical sprinkles and wait overnight.

This is what we woke up to this morning!  Candy canes had grown from the peppermint kisses!

I'm sure Korina will bring us more entertainment soon, so I'll try to post again next week :-)

Cheerleading

Naomi has been doing cheerleading at school with kindergarteners through 5th graders. They had their first performance a few weeks ago at a high school football game. The theme was circus since the song they were from the newest Madagascar movie (Afro circus). They did a great job and performed at both pre-game and halftime. Their team will be performing aging next month.

A Month with Korina, the Elf on the Shelf

Our Elf on the Shelf, Korina (formerly known as Trinity) was with us for about 23 days this year. Here is what she was up to during her stay:
She arrived at Nana's house with her book on December 1st.

Here she is drawing a picture of herself or Santa, we aren't sure.

Climbing Rapunzel's hair.

Relaxing in a cotton ball bath with a sock to keep her hat dry.

Making a powdered sugar snow angel.  A cat helped her with this activity, probably Milo...

She wrote on the mirror!

Cuddling baby Jesus.

This morning we were in a hotel in Vacaville, CA.  Korina set up a game of Old Maid with most of the other toys that traveled with us, although she left out Ralph.

Dressing up as Snow White (Winters, CA).

Ralph got his revenge for being left out of the card game (Winters, CA).

Korina brought a note from Santa (Winters, CA).

A snowball fight with paper snowballs (Winters, CA)!

I guess this is how she came home from California, it must have been a long trip in that little car!

Traveling via sled and Zuzu's this time.

Repelling in the pantry in search of hot chocolate.

Putting together a puzzle.

She drew a moustache on Naomi and little hats on the picture with Naomi and her cousin!

Delivering candy canes for the tree.

Tea party!

Having some maple syrup for breakfast.

She opened the gift Naomi wrapped for her (a pretend sunflower) and decided to go for a ride on a horse.

She trapped Naomi, this really freaked Naomi out at first, but then she really liked it and wanted to keep it up.

Before returning to the North Pole she read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas to some of the toys and then left a nice note for Naomi saying how much she had enjoyed her time at our house.
